INTERVIEW – ADRIANA BATES, ERAZE CLINIC OWNER / PRACTITIONER

Adriana Bates E-raze non-laser tattoo removal is a Bristol-based clinic in the South West of England. Adriana Bates is an accomplished permenant make-up artist, cosmetic tattooist and tattoo removal specialist.

Briefly, how did Adriana Bates tattoo removal begin?

While doing permanent make up procedures/cosmetic tattoo on my clients I came across many of them who were not pleased with the work of a previous technician. Very often the only solution was to remove their existing tattoo/mostly eyebrows. That was the next step for me:  To provide an additional service to my clients while at the same time using my existing digital machine and needles. Only difference was implanting a special cream/solution Rejuvi instead of pigments for  cosmetic tattoo.

How many patients do you commonly treat per month?

Average number is 15-20 per month but it varies. I mostly remove body tattoos and occasionally facial tattoo/eyebrows. It is not suitable for sensitive areas near the eyes or lips due to after care consideration.

For facial tattoos one Rejuvi treatment is usually enough while a body tattoo on average can be removed in 3-4 treatments depending on size, age, quality of pigments, location, etc. Older tattoo have more bonding to surrounding skin tissue and may also require extra treatments.

I heard females were more inclined to get tattoos removed. Are your clients mostly male or female?

Equally male and female. Although female clients tend to regret having tattoo rather sooner then men. Good news is that this method of removal works very well on young tattoos when the pigment has not settled completely into skin. It is always a better idea to start with this method of removal/Rejuvi/ and see how efficient it is, rather than with laser.

E-raze/Rejuvi cream method of tattoo removal extracts ink to the skin surface while laser pushing/breaking molecules of ink into small particles and can cause some sub dermal scarring and chemical composition of the ink  making this removal method less effective.

Your removal clinic uses non-laser tattoo removal. Why did you choose non-laser removal over laser removal? Have you ever tried any other methods?

Non-laser tattoo removal was more appealing to me as it has more benefits over laser removal. For my clients the fact that E-raze is the fastest non-surgical treatment capable of completely removing a tattoo is attractive to clients. It also more affordable than laser, requires less treatments/around 3-4/ and is the least painful method as aesthetic is used and works on all colours.

With tattoo removal being so new, many seem to be unsure on the best method of removal – it is often assumed laser removal is the best and only way. Do you find this? Do you think the public should be made more aware of different removal methods?

Definitely! For a long time laser was the only way to remove tattoo, today E-raze method of tattoo removal is just another choice and I think it is a very good news for everyone who wishes to remove tattoo to have an alternative. Every individual is unique; some will respond better than others to particular treatments.

The published success rate of tattoo colour removal by E-raze for permanent make up is 100% and over 92% for body tattoos – it is better then any other current available tattoo removal technique. Other benefits of the E-raze system over laser tattoo removal are numerous. The e-raze treatment is substantially less painful than other removal methods and the treatment course and subsequent tattoo removal is much faster and more effective than laser removal options. There is also no need to avoid direct sunlight after treatment, (as is necessary with laser) and aftercare is relatively simple. Incidents of scarring from the e-raze treatment are extremely low and are comparable to laser*. However the e-raze system will not cause long term skin texture or pigment changes like laser can. E-raze is proven, safe and effective, it was developed by Rejuvi Laboratory USA California, and it is successfully used worldwide.

Where do you see tattoo removal in future? Can you see Rejuvi removal becoming the predominant method of removal?

E-raze method of tattoo removal by Rejuvi is definitely becoming more popular, as clients are always on the lookout for other removal methods. As I mentioned before, the benefits are enormous and I can clearly see that it might become the predominant method of tattoo removal and public should definitely be aware of this.

Thank you for your time, Adriana.
